Ladies and gentlemen,

Behind the noble of a mother, sometimes there are some people who do not understand the value of a mother. Haven’t we ever heard the story of Malin Kundang who was condemned by her mother into stone because of his disobedience to his own mother? There are many important lessons we can take from this story that we need to serve and obey our mother.

Although in modern times there is no child who is cursed into stone as well as in Malin Kundang story, but the nature of the iniquity of Malin Kundang story is still inherited by some children in this modern era. When we see and observe the environment around us, there are still some children who speak and act rude, doing bad behavior, even disobey their own mother who gives birth to us to this world.

Our Prophet Muhammad SAW gave orders for us to devote to the mother 3 times more than the father. This could be used as an evidence of how Islam puts mothers in a privileged spot. Even in a haadist mentioned:
الجنة تحت أقدام الأمهات

Which means: Paradise is under mother’s feet.
